Kindergarten-5th Grade Programs
We know kids can know, love, and serve Christ—not only in the future—but today! It is our desire to partner with parents to disciple and encourage kids to discover who they are in Christ, knowing that only a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ will bring them true joy
Currently, we teach all of our children in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade in a large group setting. At various times and for various age-specific activities, we divide them. Our curriculum includes a 52-week foundational series that covers the main themes of the Bible along with deeper studies on biblical characters and books. Our aim is for each child that joins us from K-5th grade to know the outline of biblical history, the major characters in it, and a have solid understanding of Who God is and how he or she fits in His-Story.
Children’s Church is provided each Sunday for children in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. During this time, the children play games, enjoy planned activities and crafts, sing, have a light snack, and focus on a principle from God’s Word and how to apply it to their lives.
Children join their parents in the Sanctuary after Sunday School and enjoy worshiping the Lord Jesus through song with our congregation. Then the children are invited to come to Children’s Church before the Pastor’s sermon (note when the children are to leave in the bulletin). A deacon will be available at this time to escort you and your child to the room, if you are visiting us.
Our children have opportunities to give of themselves and their finances to missionaries in our annual Operation Christmas Child Shoe box collection, in donating toys to needy children in the coal mining areas of Kentucky and western Virginia, and in other endeavors throughout the year.
